San Francisco Station Status

As you may know, we are planning a major expansion to a total of 7,000 bikes in five Bay Area cities. Many San Francisco stations planned for 2017 installation and shown on the station maps have not yet been installed. Our team has been working hard on finding successful locations for these stations.

  • Fill out this short survey and tell us what you think of the proposed station locations.

  • Suggest a new station location here.

Below is an update by neighborhood and our plans to expand westward.

Upper and Lower Haight

Due to construction projects in the Haight, finding locations for bike share stations has been difficult. We have been meeting with community groups, doing additional station siting and gathering input from neighbors and community stakeholders. We look forward to working with Supervisor Brown to determine next steps for installing stations.

If you would like to see stations installed in the Haight, please email District 5 Supervisor Vallie Brown at brownstaff@sfgov.org and SFMTA at sustainable.streets@sfmta.com. Be sure to cc us at outreach@fordgobike.com.

North Beach

We're working closely with Supervisor Aaron Peskin, community groups and other stakeholders to be able to deploy stations in North Beach.

If you would like to see stations installed in North Beach, please email District 3 Supervisor Aaron Peskin at Aaron.Peskin@sfgov.org and SFMTA at sustainable.streets@sfmta.com. Be sure to cc us at outreach@fordgobike.com.

Marina District

Below is a map of our proposed stations in the Marina District.

If you would like to see stations installed in the Marina, please email District 2 Supervisor Catherine Stefani at Catherine.Stefani@sfgov.org and SFMTA at sustainable.streets@sfmta.com. Be sure to cc us at outreach@fordgobike.com.

Please also take a moment to fill out Supervisor Stefani's Biking in District 2 Survey.

Glen Park

Below is a map of our proposed stations in Glen Park:

  • Randall St at Chenery St

  • Glen Park BART

If you would like to see stations installed in Glen Park, please email District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman at Rafael.Mandelman@sfgov.org and SFMTA at sustainable.streets@sfmta.com. Be sure to cc us at outreach@fordgobike.com.

Excelsior & Outer Mission

We are currently collecting community feedback as we begin expanding our network into the Excelsior and Outer Mission. Below is a map of our proposed stations. Tell us where else you would like to see stations by suggesting a new location here.

If you would like to see stations brought to the Excelsior and Outer Mission, please email District 11 Supervisor Ahsha Safai at Ahsha.Safai@sfgov.org and SFMTA at sustainable.streets@sfmta.com. Be sure to cc us at outreach@fordgobike.com.

Western Expansion

Over the past year, we have received suggestions from District Supervisors, multiple community groups and other stakeholders to design a system to serve the western region of San Francisco. Our team is in the process of reviewing these suggestions to evaluate their feasibility and design the most effective bike share program. Stay tuned for future proposed stations in your neighborhood.

In the meantime, here are the ways you can show your support for bike share:
