Riders rally to save carbon in August

This past August, Ford GoBike partnered with Icelandic Glacial, the world's first bottled water certified as CarbonNeutral® for product and operation, to launch a special month long sweepstakes to promote carbon-conscious behaviors and chance to win a (carbon offset) trip for two to Iceland and other prizes!

We had over 2300 entries, many of which shared how they were saving carbon emissions riding Ford GoBike and other ways using the hashtag #rideclean

Four sweepstakes winners were identified. Mary Gula won a free case of Icelandic Glacial water. Mary demonstrated her family’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions in multiple ways including biking.

Doctor Popular and Karen Whitestone were winners of Ford GoBike swag bags, which include a free annual membership plus a t-shirt, sunglasses and more. Together they rode Ford GoBike over 30 times in August. Karen rode to/from a variety of East Bay stations, while Doctor Popular rode Ford GoBike in San Francisco primarily from the Mission District.

And the grand prize went too….Ford GoBike Member, Bryan Lim (who happens to also be a Bike Angel!). He rode Ford GoBike 67 times in August and seems to be enjoying the new Ford GoBike Plus electric bikes!

His trip time equates to approximately 41 lbs of carbon saved from emission, just from using bikeshare. Congrats to Bryan! We can’t wait to see his pictures and hear stories from Iceland.

Thanks to everyone who participated and is trying to make carbon conscious changes in their life!
