Mayor Lee Rides Ford GoBike for Bike to Work Day 2017

No region celebrates Bike to Work Day quite like the Bay Area, and this year was no exception.

As we prepare to bring you a bigger, better bike share with Ford GoBike, we sent our CEO, Jay H. Walder and San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee to test drive the bicycles.

They rode from Glen Park BART to City Hall on the navy and blue bicycles which will soon fill the streets of San Francisco and beyond.

In the coming weeks, Ford GoBike will launch across the Bay Area and soon become the densest bike share system in North America.

By the end of this summer, San Francisco alone will have 160 stations 2,000 bikes, and by summer 2018, there will be 335 stations and 4,500 bikes in San Francisco.

Best of all, Ford GoBike will be a regional program, bringing a total of 7,000 bike share bikes to San Francisco, Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley and San Jose by the end of 2018.

According to the SFMTA there are already over 80,000 bike trips in San Francisco on average each day. We can’t wait to help boost these numbers as we bring Ford GoBike to the region.
