With two new stations, Ford GoBike now connects riders to Jack London Square businesses, San Francisco Bay Ferry, Amtrak and lots more.
Yesterday, the Ford GoBike team celebrated the addition of two new stations in Oakland’s Jack London Square - 2nd St at Webster and Embarcadero West at Clay St. These two key stations will serve as convenient connectors to both Amtrak and the San Francisco Bay Ferry.
“We’re really excited about these new stations that will provide an amazing connection to multiple modes of transportation,” said Ford GoBike’s General Manager, Emily Stapleton.
More so than that, these new stations will help bring Oakland residents and visitors to Jack London Square businesses and amenities.
“When people come to Downtown Oakland by BART, they can get to all the exciting things in Jack London Square - the restaurants, the activities and all the great events that Oakland has by grabbing a bike downtown and coming here,” said Ryan Russo, Director of City of Oakland Department of Transportation.
Members were treated to a free scoop of ice cream at the local Ben & Jerry’s, and the first ten riders received a gift certificate to Oaklandish and a Bike East Bay membership. Ford GoBike members who visit Bicycle Coffee on Thursday, March 15th will receive a free cup of coffee when they show their Ford GoBike app at the register.
